What makes Third Coast Pillows different from other decorative pillows?
Most decorative pillows prioritize appearance over comfort. Third Coast Pillows are engineered to excel at both—featuring original artwork on exceptionally soft, high-quality fabric with generous fill for genuine comfort. These aren't pillows you move aside to sit down. They're pillows you actually want to use.
How soft are they really?
Customers consistently describe them as "stupid soft" and dramatically softer than typical decorative pillows. We use premium plush polyester fabric selected specifically for its softness and durability. Many customers report family members fighting over them during movie nights.
What size are the pillows?
All Third Coast Pillows are 20" x 20" square—a versatile size that works on sofas, beds, chairs, and benches.
Can I wash the covers?
Yes. Each pillow features a bold custom zipper that makes removing the cover simple. Machine wash cold, gentle cycle. Air dry or tumble dry low. The zipper isn't hidden—it's designed as an intentional feature because being able to clean your pillows is a strength, not something to hide.
What's inside the pillow?
Each pillow contains 1,000 grams (2.2 lbs) of fine polyester fiber fill. This weight was chosen after extensive testing to provide optimal comfort while maintaining shape over time.
Are the designs printed or embroidered?
The artwork is printed using sublimation—a process that infuses the design directly into the fabric for vibrant, lasting color that won't fade, crack, or peel.

How long does shipping take?
Standard shipping within the United States typically takes 5-7 business days. You'll receive tracking information once your order ships. If you are near Chicago, you can expect your pillow to be delivered in 2 business days.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently, we ship within the United States only.
What's your return policy?
We want you to love your Third Coast Pillow. If you're not satisfied, contact us within 30 days of delivery to arrange a return for a full refund. Pillows must be in original, unused condition.
Can I cancel or modify my order?

About the Brand
Who makes Third Coast Pillows?
Third Coast Pillows is a one-person operation based in the Chicago area. I'm Stephen Sefton—I create all the artwork, oversee manufacturing, and handle every aspect of the business. Each pillow represents my design work and commitment to quality.
Where are the pillows made?
The pillows are manufactured in China by specialist partners I've worked with through nearly two decades in the manufacturing industry. This allows me to maintain exceptional quality while keeping prices accessible—a balance that wouldn't be possible with domestic production at this scale.
Why "Third Coast"?
The Great Lakes are sometimes called America's "Third Coast" (after the Atlantic and Pacific). The name reflects the region that inspires this work—Chicago, Lake Michigan, and the Great Lakes spirit.
What artwork is featured on the pillows?
Designs range from Chicago landmarks and architecture to pieces inspired by personal memories connected to the Great Lakes region. Each design has its own story.
Do you take custom orders?
Not at this time. Each design in the collection is carefully considered and personally meaningful. However, I'm always working on new pieces, so check back regularly or sign up for our newsletter to see what's coming next.
Giving Back
What causes do you support?
When Third Coast Pillows becomes profitable, 10% of all profits will be donated to organizations focused on water conservation and protecting the Great Lakes. I'm also considering support for arts education programs in underserved communities.
Why water conservation?
Every memory and inspiration behind this brand traces back to water—Lake Michigan, fishing trips, family moments on the Great Lakes. Preserving these waters for future generations matters deeply to me.
